Romeo & Juliet - Nurses Role essays

Romeo and Juliet - Nurse's Role expositions The play, Romeo and Juliet, by Shakespeare, is around two young people called Romeo and Juliet who begin to look all starry eyed at. Just a single individual thinks about it, and that is Juliets nurture. Romeo and Juliets families loathe one another, so they don't tell their folks, since they would be incredibly furious that they were infatuated, and would not let Romeo and Juliet see one another. All through the play we consider the To be as a humorist, or in certain parts, for example, Tybalts passing, a genuine character. I consider the to be as nurturing, as she treats Juliet as though she were her own little girl, and realizes her significantly better than Juliets mother. Juliets mother didn't have any acquaintance with her own girls age. The medical caretaker regularly acted before considering the issues they would cause. When Juliet and Romeo initially met, the attendant asked him his name, and despite the fact that she discovered he was an individual from the Montagues, which was the loathed group of Juliets family, she despite everything told Juliet. Juliet stated, My lone love, sprung from my solitary loathe which shows that she was exceptionally disturbed, and befuddled about what to do. The Nurse doesnt see what is so dreadful about it, and helps Romeo and Juliet meet covertly. The attendant likewise helped Romeo and Juliet wed stealthily. This shows she was more similar to a companion than a medical caretaker to Juliet, as she took a chance with her business to help Juliet. Juliet requested that her proceed to discover Romeo, and check whether he had made courses of action for their marriage. Romeo had, and stated, a few way to come to confession this evening, What's more, there she will at Friar Lawrence cell The attendant was defensive of Juliet, on the grounds that after Romeo had educated her regarding the marriage game plans she inquired as to whether he was dependable, she stated, Is your man mystery? Im In College I Still Read for Fun

I’m In College I Still Read for Fun I’ve always been a bit of a bookworm, and one of my fears was that college would ruin reading for me. With all of the giant textbooks and stressful coursework  , how was I ever going to pick up a book for fun again? Cue Rory Gilmore: image from tumblr I’ll admit, most of the reading I do outside of the classroom involves reading the news or the instructions on microwavable food, but every once in a while, I pick up a book about something that interests me and isn’t required reading. I recently found out about the I-Share program; a University of Illinois library account that allows students to request items from other participating locations. The particular book I was interested in wasn’t available anywhere on campus, so I requested it through I-Share, and it’s now being shipped from Kankakee Community College to my residence hall’s library, free of chargeâ€"how convenient is that? Thanks to the helpful library staff working at Illinois, along with the participating libraries that make up the I-Share program, I can request all the books I’ve ever wanted to read. I think its safe to say that college hasnt  ruined reading for me yetâ€"I think my bigger problem is going to be making sure that I dont go overboard with all the library requests. Ria Class of 2018 I'm studying both Finance and Information Systems and Information Technology in the Gies College of Business. I’m from Los Altos, California.

Censoring The Censorship Of Media - 3205 Words

Cesar Ortega Mrs. Martinez English, Period 8th 11/28/2014 Censoring In the 21st century the censoring of media should be scarce but in the contrary it’s being reinforce by countries. For instance, the act of censoring gay media hurts all those individuals who are members of the LGBT community and those who wish to learn more about the LGBT community and its history. It prevents people who wish to find more resources and information that might be able to change their life for the better. Censoring gay medial is okay when it promotes hatred and violence but it should not be censor when it promotes helpful information. It can also promote tolerance and acceptance for gay people and in the process it would be fighting hatred and†¦show more content†¦Is not just one country that makes it impossible for gay people to be free and openly gay, there are dozens. It’s a real shame to see that many governments are ignorant enough to believe that imprisonment of gay people will solve the problems their country possesses. When coun tries like Cameron have laws that punish people for being gay there is also expected for those countries to censor websites and media the show gay couples or LGBT resources. In a very similar way is Uganda’s Rolling stone newspaper publishes photographs of gay people with â€Å"the headline ’Hang Them, They are after Our Kids: Pictures of Top 100 Homos’† (Oates). Having a government that supports discrimination towards gay people makes it impossible for anyone to be willing to speak out loud to try to stop the injustices toward the LGBT community. The people fear that if they speak up they would be putting their life at risk. In a society where the persecution of gay people is vastly supported there is not a lot of resources available for people to understand that gay people are being misrepresented with the wrong convictions. As is also well known in Russia where â€Å"Anti-free-speech laws targeting homosexuals are sweeping Russian cities† (Anton ova).Though Russia might not directly punish gay people for being gay, they are suppressing their rights that allow them to express themselves. With laws that are intended to prevent gay people

Wood Grouse on a High Promontory Overlooking Canada

Wood Grouse on a High Promontory Overlooking Canada - analysis and interpretation The short story Wood Grouse on a High Promontory Overlooking Canada by David Guterson takes place in the mountains between USA and Canada, where two brothers are on a trip together, enjoying nature and doing guy stuff. Guterson uses a first person narrator bound to the 15-year old Bud, whose older brother Gary has just returned home from war and now has taken his little brother out in the wilderness to catch trout, watch the sunset and find the Canadian border. The brothers seem to be fond of each other and enjoy each others company, but the narrator also brings the age difference into focus and the fact that the story is written in the past tense†¦show more content†¦Bud on the other hand is sort of paralysed, apologises awkwardly to his brother and seems almost oblivious of his actions. This is supposedly partially due to the age difference but also their widely different relationship to the term â€Å"death†. Being in Vietnam Gary must have seen some unbelievably h orrific things and death has pretty sure crossed his path. He has gained a whole new perspective on death and the fact that is only a bird does not seem to matter to him. With tears pouring down his cheeks Gary says to his little brother â€Å"That’s all it is. That’s all there is to it, Bud† (Line 61), referring to the easiness of taking an innocent life. At night â€Å"by the propane stove† (Line 64) Gary asks Bud what he has been up to while he was away. The conversation is pleasant and uncomplicated and the two brothers are having a good time right until Bud feels the need to ask Gary if he killed anyone in Vietnam. Gary seems utterly shocked that his brother would ask him a question like that, and frustrated he repeats the question to himself again and again. Eventually he once again breaks out in tears and the two brothers realize that neither of them is prepared or even capable of talking about it. When they go to bed, they talk about ridiculously abstract issues like â€Å"the possibility of life on Saturn’s seventh month† (Line 81) and it almost seems like they are willing to talk about anything but the war. They rather sweep the uncomfortable

It appears that most of this generations’ social and emotional development is occurring while on the Internet and cell phones. 75%of teenagers now own cell phones, and 25% use them for social media, 54% use them for texting, and 24% use them for instant messaging. (pediatrics) According to another study, kids that spent more time using social media reported lower grades, and lower levels of personal contentment, more likely to get in trouble, more sad, and more bored. (commonsensemedia. rg) A major controversy is that some children are accessing inappropriate sites as there are no protective safeguards to prevent this. One such example is Facebook which requires users to be at least 13 years of age to open an account. Last year more than 7. 5 million American kids under the age of 13 had joined Facebook. (www. cnn. com) The time spent using social media takes a child/youth away from actual physical activity. Children are drawn to use social media as it is a very human need to be heard and connect with others and there is a desire to make a difference and influence the world around them. (blog neilson) Although there are many negatives attached to social media, one of which is that social media takes children and youth away from reading traditional books. Academic Literacies through Sustainability

Question: Discuss about the Academic Literacies through Sustainability. Answer: Introduction: Sustainable tourisms main purpose is to create a balance between the maintenance of cultural integrity, protection of the environment and establishing social justice while promoting economic benefits. These encompass the three pillars of sustainability that include economic, socio-cultural and environmental. Various key sustainability issues need to be considered in each of these pillars to be able to achieve sustainable tourism. In the economic pillar, the tourism operators ought to hire and source locally to ensure that income earned benefits the local community by improving their living standards. In the environmental pillar, the natural and man-made environment should be conserved. This includes water sources, forests, monuments, natural landmarks among others. People should not litter to maintain the beauty of places they visit and utilize environmental conservation strategies like considering walking and not disturbing flora and fauna. In the socio-cultural pillar, the aim is to promote the positive socio-cultural impacts of tourism while reducing the negative impacts. Here, the positive factors include the exchange of cultural values where sustainability enhances protection of the cultural heritage of a particular people and preserving local traditions. An argument can be placed that the economic pillar should be prioritized as tourism mostly brings about economic growth. However, for there to be sustainable tourism, all pillars must be balanced and prioritized equally. This is so because if there were a prolonged recession, the environmental pillar would be affected substantially leading to its destruction as everyone would concentrate on high consumption now and forget to save the environment. On the other hand, if a war could break out the environment would be destroyed too. For sustainable tourism to be achieved, all pillars must be prioritized and balanced.

Why was julius caesar murdered free essay sample

The first reason Julius Caesar was murdered was because some senators thought he wanted to become king. We will write a custom essay sample on Why was julius caesar murdered or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page The evidence I have to support this point is that he acted like a king. He accepted gold and lots of other things only acceptable for a God. Another bit of evidence is on a parade some plebeians tied a white ribbon around his statue (a white ribbon is the sign of a king) But when the senators told them to take it off Caesar told them not too. So this would make the senators want to kill Caesar because the senators thought he had enough plebian support to become king. They were afraid that if he did become king (which was very likely) it would be the end of the republic and that would mean they would lose all their power. But on the other hand it says only some senators thought he wanted to become king. This means that not all of them thought this. Also it was never thought that Julius Caesar would do a thing as to destroy the Roman republic. The second reason Julius Caesar was murdered was that some senators were jealous of him. The evidence I have to support this is he became a consul several times and made dictator for life. He also was given honours fit for a god: a gold throne, statues beside those of the gods, a special priest and one of the months of the years was named after him: July. This would make the senators want to kill him because if he was being given lots of gifts and was being treated like a king he would start to become more powerful than them, the senators, who were supposedly the most powerful people in Rome. They did not want to lose their power and give it all to Caesar. But again it only said some senators were jealous of him so it wasn’t all of them that thought this point which means it isn’t 100% accurate. The third reason Julius Caesar was murdered was because the senators disliked him because he was arrogant and acted as though he was superior. The evidence I have to support this is that he refused to rise when the senators came in. They thought that he was disrespectful, vain and that he tried ‘ to make the senate feel like they were inferior to him’ So the reason Julius Caesar was murdered was because the senate did not want someone like him to rule the republic. They new that if he did come to power he would treat them  like dirt and again they did not want to lose that advantage they had over the plebeians by being powerful and rich. But on the other hand Caesar was very kind to the poor and they liked him a lot. Another reason Caesar was murdered was because the senate was worried he was on the side of the plebeians. The evidence I have to support this is that Caesar was very kind to the poor. He helped them by selling them land cheaply. He also supplied building work in Rome and made the taxes fairer. So the senators believed that he had enough plebeian support to become king. They were again afraid that this would destroy the republic. My last reason why Caesar was murdered was that the senators thought he was becoming too powerful. The evidence I have to support this is that he made a secret agreement with too very powerful men called Crassius and Pompey to rule Rome between them and destroy the republic. So this would mean that Caesar would become king and they would all lose their power. Lots of these points link such as Caesar was becoming too powerful and Caesar wanted to become king. These both led to the end of the republic. They link because they both mean that the senators would have lost their power and it would be the end of the republic. They also both lead to him becoming king. I think the most important reason Caesar was murdered was because Caesar was becoming too powerful. I think this was the most important reason because it is the strongest evidence for him wanting to be king. Leading to the end of the republic. I think the least important reason Caesar was murdered is that the senators were jealous of him. I think this was the least important because I could be jealous of somebody but that doesn’t mean I want to kill them. I don’t think it is a good enough reason to kill somebody. To conclude Julius Caesar was murdered because he wanted to become king and destroy the Roman republic. This was the main reason he got killed by the senators. Julius Caesar was a good man in many ways and many of his  intentions were good and I myself don’t think he deserved to be assassinated. Thank you for reading my essay on why Julius Caesar was murdered.

Four Skinny Trees Essays - Botany, Biology, Forest Ecology

Four Skinny Trees Essays - Botany, Biology, Forest Ecology Four Skinny Trees Esperanza feels lost, alone, and confused. She believes that the only ones who can understand her feelings are trees. The trees are skinny and pointy. The city had planted them in concrete, which naturally is not the best nor the healthiest place for trees to grow. Esperanza sees the trees as a reflection of herself [skinny and angular]. In spite of their location, the trees seem to survive in a way. This idea of persevering parallels back to Esperanza. She struggles to be successful even though she is in a harsh environment. Her description of the setting leads me to think that she is poor. Therefore, she has limitations due to class. Is this why she feels that she can only confide in trees? For Esperanza, the trees seem to be like a support network for her. She would talk to them when she felt lonely. It was almost as if the trees were her family members. The trees were not only a support network and a reflection of Esperanza. They inspired Esperanza. When Esperanza was ready to give up, she looked at the trees, and they told her to keep, keep, keep, keep. The trees taught Esperanza perseverance, which would definitely help her achieve success. Marketing Communications Programme of Adidas Essay

Marketing Communications Programme of Adidas - Essay Example The role of communication audit is to find whether the intended person is decoding the message in the manner, in which the messages were designed when encoded. When this communication audit is done on a real organization like Adidas, it gives interesting perspectives or results of their MarCom strategies. Adidas is the Germany based sports equipment and apparel manufacturing company, and along with Reebok, Taylor Made and Rockport constitutes the Adidas Group. Adidas is the second-biggest sportswear manufacturer in the world in terms of revenue and reach, following Nike and when it comes to Europe, it is the largest manufacturer. (freebase.com). Headquartered at Herzogenaurach, Germany, Adidas is known for producing and selling high quality products with the aid of effective marketing strategies to a wide range of customers throughout the world. Although, it also provides its products to its brand endorsers and sponsored teams, its main focus is on the key stakeholder of customers. A didas has a set of stakeholders and according to its website they are Employees at the Adidas Shareholders, Board of Directors Business partners including suppliers, retailers, distributors, service providers, etc. Employees in their suppliers' factories Customers, which include professional sports people and importantly consumer (adidas-group.com). Among these stakeholders, customer segment are the key because, although other stakeholders will also be communicated regarding the company’s operations, the customers will be mainly communicated through various marketing campaigns for their products. The customer segment of Adidas constitutes people, who want to buy sportswear and equipments for their sports activities and also as part of their lifestyle activities. As Borowski (2011, p.7) states, Adidas could focus on the â€Å"middle and upper-class athletics, single and family-households with lifestyle and brand loyalty, whose income allows buying those goods.† When the age aspect is focused, Adidas’ target segment will be mainly in the age group of 14 to 30, however as Hall, Jones and Raffo (2007) states age will not be always a factor, because even people in their middle-ages will buy Adidas products as part of their lifestyle activities. This perspective was validated by Keegan (2009) as well, who stated, â€Å"Adidas still enjoys high brand loyalty among older Europeans†. Thus, the target customer base or key stakeholders of Adidas is slightly broad, and so Adidas has been communicating with all these customer segments through different MarCom strategies. To initiate these customer segment specific marketing campaigns, Adidas in the late 1990’s categorized its brand into three main groups, called Adidas Performance, Adidas Originals and Adidas Style Essentials, with each group constituting a range of products exhibiting a specific focus. This categorization of products

Accounting II Article Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 250 words

Accounting II - Article Example Such an individual promotes mediocrity in what they achieve as well as mediocrity in other individuals’ ability to achieve. A low EQ actually causes one to feel belittled, unworthy and inefficient. One example of a high EQ individual is my lecturer who is able to make every student’s response seem like gold or of Albert Einstein’s quality. On the other hand, an example of a low EQ individual would be my boss who constantly derides my every action and attempts to be excellent. I am left with the notion that it is impossible to achieve anything of substance. I believe that a high EQ can certainly help one’s personal and professional work. Likewise a low EQ can hinder one’s ability to progress. Firstly, a high EQ will cause one to relate at an optimum level with oneself as well as with others. Thus, one’s perception of self will improve to such an extent that others will want to be in the presence of such an individual. Similarly, a low EQ would cloud one’s ability to clearly accept oneself. Consequently, inability to objectively accept self will interfere with one’s ability to understand and relate to others. EQ therefore will affect both personal and professional life because one does not live in a vacuum. What affects one area of life will disperse to the other

HP was founded by Stanford graduates David Packard and William Hewlett. They began the company, in 1939, in a garage next to Packards home in Palo Alto, Calif. As the company grew, the founders based the organizational structure on an informal, non-hierarchical culture (Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P., 2011). In order to foster and environment of innovation, they allowed engineers to access tools and parts after hours. Hewlett-Packard Company (HP) is a provides numerous products, technologies, software, solutions and services to private consumers, businesses of all sizes, including the Government, health and education sectors. Its operations are organized into seven divisions including the Personal Systems Group, Services, the Imaging and Printing Group, Enterprise Servers, Storage and Networking, HP Software, HP Financial Services and Corporate Investments. HPs offers products for personal computing, customer services, infrastructure technology, business process outsourcing, application development and support services, and imaging and printing products. Since HP extends across numerous IT markets, it has numerous competitors in each Market. For instance, in the personal computing market Apple and IBM offer very similar products and would be considered direct challengers. In the printing sector, direct competitors are Epson, Cannon, and Lexmark. In the server sector, again IBM is direct competition along with Dell. Overall, HP had a 3.3% market share in the IT market. That number is based on industry wide revenue figures for 2012. HPs 2012 revenue was $123 billion out of roughly $3.79 trillion spent within the industry worldwide (Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P., 2011). In comparison, the No.1 vendor was Apple Inc. with revenues of $149 billion and a 3.9% market share. (Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P., 2011) (Hernandez, 2012) (Hingley, 2012) According to the course text, the concept of  elasticity involves the percentage change in one variable associated with a given percentage change in another variable (Hirschey, 2009, p. 170). Elasticity relates to the principles of supply and demand. When something changes in a market, elasticity conveys how much other elements will change. For instance, price elasticity conveys the amount of impact a change in price will have on consumer willingness to buy that item. If prices rise, the law of demand dictates that the quantity demanded will decrease. Price elasticity of demand points out how much the quantity demanded decreases. Elastic demand means that the consumers of that good or service are highly sensitive to changes in price (Tuck, 2013). Typically, a good or service which is not a necessity or has multiple substitutes has elastic demand. Inelastic demand has the converse meaning and indicates that consumers are not highly sensitive to price changes. Price elasticity of a product is calculated as the percent change in the quantity demanded of a good divided by the percent change in the price for that good (Tuck, 2013). A result greater than one means that the product is elastic and that demand is highly sensitive to changes in price. Elasticity less than one means that a product is inelastic and price change will have a minimal impact on the quantity demanded. HP is a technology and hardware company. Any consumer that has been to an electronics store knows that there are a tremendous amount of hardware and software options available. There are numerous competitors that offer similar printers, computers, servers, and software packages. In addition, the technology market is rapidly evolving and new products are being consistently released onto the market. This drives short life cycles for products and rapid obsolescence. Though, technologies have become a necessity worldwide, consumers are extremely price sensitive due to the high number of alternative products available. These factors drive a high level of elasticity in the technology sector, which impacts many of HPs products. Regression analysis is statistical technique that describes the way in which variables are related to one another (Hirschey, 2009, p. 85). This type of analysis is commonly used to identify demand, cost, and profit relations. For the purposes of this assignment, the regression analysis can be used to demonstrate the relationship between total sales, employment rates, and personal income levels. Sales Levels (Revenues Fiscal Year 2012) Unemployment Rate Personal Income (Monthly) Oct-11 $32,122,000.00 8.5 $3,044.00 Jul-12 $29,669,000.00 8.2 $3,088.00 Oct-12 $29,959,000.00 7.9 $3,088.00 (Bureau of Labor and Statistics, U.S. Department Of Labor, 2010) In order to accomplish this, the equation: Sales Levels (Y) = a + b1*Personal Income + b2*Unemployment Rate + e y = 230100 + -966.671 + -62.3412 Based on the analysis that has been done to this point, it appears as though software revenue grew 14% year over year with a 27.2% operating margin. Software revenue was driven by 9% license growth, 9% support growth, and 48% growth in services. HP Financial Services revenue grew 1% year over the year. However, there was a decline in other aspects of the business as the personal systems, printing, and enterprise server and storage, as revenues declined in each of these areas. The technology market and these statistics indicate that HP should continue to develop its software and financial services divisions. These aspects of the HP organization have demonstrated growth and the company should continue to move toward expanding in these sectors. Despite declining revenues, HP is still a leader in the hardware market as well. The company may want to leverage the software division and work toward integrating more of the licensed software into the hardware products. For example, the HP server and storage division could incorporate HP software bundles, used to drive the technology, at a reduced price. This would make the hardware more lucrative to enterprises and personal consumers. Instead of purchasing software and services from a competitor, a more cost effective, all-in-one solution could be bundled by HP. Apple Inc. has become a dominant competitor in the technology market. They have accomplished this with an emphasis on design, not hardware. HP should also make an effort to replicate the Apple model to a certain extent. They need to place resources into the design and innovation of new products. The technology market demonstrates a high level of price elasticity. So, HP needs to push towards well designed products that provide unique and cutting edge tools for users. Any edge that the company can gain without increasing prices will ultimately improve their bottom line.

Organizing, Researching, and Illustrating your Material Essay

Step 1: Methods Observations: I would observe the individuals in different departments in their own work enviroments to see how they interact with each other and their clients on a day to day basis. I would do this in hopes to see where any and all issues or breakdowns in communication and work procedure and protocols are happening. I hope to have a better understanding of how each department works together after these observations and interviews. Interviews: I will would interview each employee personally, or in groups by department. Whichever I felt would get a better response from the employees. I would plan to explain to them the problems that have been brought to my attention and ask for their input into what they feel the biggest problems are and how they would solve them. Surveys: I would then have them fill out surveys followed by a question and answer session to try to get a personal feel to what is going on. For my visit, I am expecting that you to prepare various company documents, such as the company policy manuals you provide for your employees, any production manuals you may have, a list of your hiring and recruitment processes and management approaches, and all other company policies that you may have in place or that you pro vide to your employees. I am looking forward to seeing you and your team soon. Thank you for your time and cooperation. Sincerely, Kirstin Krueger VP of Human Resource Management Step 2B – Problems and Illustration Problems: The Phoenix Advertising group is having problems with its employees both in terms of employee work ethic, and in employee morale and motivation. Because of this, a report is needed to find out the economic issues and any managerial issues there may be. Also to look at the relationship of these employees and their management. This report is intended to help the company understand the issues at the Roanoke branch and to find any solutions there may be in order to fix these issues for good. Facts and Causes: Background data: The company that is experiencing the problem is the Roanoke branch of the Phoenix Advertising company, located in Roanoke, Virginia. Phoenix, Advertising is headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina and has clients that include but are not limited to: banks, insurance companies and retail chains. My job as the Vice President for Human Resources Management at Phoenix Advertising, is to report to the company President. The visit to the Roanoke Branch is to learn the facts and causes of the issues and complaints that have been brought to our attention, and to find the right solutions to the problems and complaints so that these issues do not continue to arise in the future. Relative Information: The problem started when the company President learned that several of our clients have complained of the work performed in the Roanoke, Virginia branch. Every client is very important to the company’s overall success,, as clients are what drive our business. We also learned that two, long term employees and top management people have left the agency in the last few months. There are also other key people in the agency are threatening to leave due to other issues. The company president requires me, to conduct a personal inquiry of the situation. I need to determine and analyze the work condition of the branch. I will interview several, various employees, both new and old to determine the views and opinions of the employees of their  work environment. I will also look at various company documents, manuals, and all employee management training. Impact and Effect: The investigation into the Roanoke Branch of the Phoenix Advertising company showed that they are currently facing problems with both management and employee relations. The Roanoke management problems are significantly affecting their employee performance and work ethic. The overall quality and productivity of the branch is suffering. One of their main problems is the decreasing employee morale and motivation. This was easily observed and shown through the answers I received while conducting my interviews. The employees, both new and old showed a huge decrease in their dedication for their work, which resulted in the decline of the quality of their performance at work and the work they produced. The employees also associated this decline to the fact that they felt dissatisfaction with the services and the performances of their managers and the work environment that they were having to work in. The employees feel stress in their work environment which resulted in an increased rate of the use of sick days and was the main cause of the high employee turnover rate. A lack of or poor communication between the employees and the managers is also another problem raised during the my interviews. Solutions The problems discovered during my investigation have to be resolved, and soon, as this may negatively affect not only the Roanoke branch but Phoenix Advertising as a whole. We need to start by revising the hiring and recruitment process in the branch. Particularly on information relative to work assignments, chain of command, and the rights and privileges of the employees. This solution proposal will hopefully create a clear understanding of the purpose of having an employee, and allowing the superiors to use them accordingly based on their skills set, and responsibilities. As the investigator, I recommend the following solutions: Reducing the overall workload of our full-time employees and adding more  part-time employees to help them out, especially during peak seasons to lower employee tension and to even out the amount of work each individual has to do alone. Establishing a clear communication line between managers and employees. This will allow for a more productive workplace, better collaboration between the clients, artists, helpers and anyone else who is involved in the project. Creating a clearer procedural structure and requirements in future approvals of new clients and contracts, to be able to assure the capabilities of the overall company. By being able to provide a better quality product not just pumping out a higher quantity of products for the Roanoke branch and for the Phoenix Advertising company as a whole.

Health Inequalities in Scotland/Uk Essay

The causes for health inequalities are very complex and seemingly conflicting. Recent studies show that death rates in Glasgow, Manchester and Liverpool in 2003 and 2007 were much higher than anywhere else in the UK. This is because these cities all have the same crucial issue – poverty and it is estimated that 25% of their populations are classed as ‘deprived’. There are many crucial factors to health inequalities, including poverty in which the CASSI report linked together. Perhaps one of the main issues is lifestyle choices. The North-South divide clearly shows that Scotland has major health issues. The investigation of the 3 cities (Glasgow, Manchester and Liverpool) shows that lifestyle is an important issue. It shows that Scottish people are more likely to die at a younger age, have strokes and get heart disease if they live in deprived areas, compared to their English equivalents – which still have bad health. The report illustrates that the death rate is 15% higher in Glasgow than in the other two cities, hence the phrase â€Å"The Glasgow Effect†. Six out of seven of the worst areas in Scotland are in Glasgow, where those in Edinburgh are expected to live on average four years longer. The average life expectancy for a man in Scotland is 75.3 and 79.9 for a female, yet in England it is 78 for a male and 82.1 for a female – showing that the North South Divide is important when looking at health inequalities. Smoking and obesity are both issues linked with social class and poverty. In Social Class 1, 13% of women are obese, but it is Social Class 2 where it increases to 25%. There are many illnesses related to obesity including heart disease. 66% of people in Scotland are classed as overweight, and 4 people die every week due to obesity. The struggling NHS forks out  £125 million pounds per year to treat obese people. Messages from the government have helped to reduce smoking by 75% in Social Class 1 but Social Class 2 only by 35%. 15% of people in Clarkston (Glasgow) smoke, whereas in the poorer area of Nitshill 44% of people smoke. Smoking can lead to cancer, heart disease and death. Alcohol misuse also separates social classes. 1 in 4 men in Glasgow admit to having a drinking problem with 200,000 dependant on alcohol, and 40% of women – therefore it is no surprise that it’s a major cause of premature death in Scotland. Glasgow has the highest alcohol related deaths in the UK where two thirds are from the most deprived areas. Someone born in Caltson has a life expectancy of just 54 years, but someone in Lenzie, just a matter of miles away, can expect to live to 82 years old. The life expectancy in India is 62, 8 years more than in Calton despite the fact that 80% of the population in India live in poverty, highlighting the lifestyle choices of people can impact on health. The most recent Government report states that â€Å"There is a clear relationship between income equality†. It tells us that more than two thirds of the total alcohol related deaths were in the most deprived areas and that those living in these areas of Scotland have a greater suicide risk – more than â€Å"double that of the Scottish average†. Clearly, those with money can afford to buy a gym membership, private healthcare and other things which improve their quality of life and therefore they have a better lifestyle than poorer people – thus showing a link between poverty and health, as those in rich areas can expect to live 30 years more than those in poor areas. Finally, ethnic origin is a factor which can influence health inequalities. An example of this is those originally from Pakistan and Bangladesh are five times more likely to suffer from diabetes than the white population. Indians are three times more likely at risk than whites. Pakistani and Bangladeshis men and women face a higher risk of heart disease than average, whilst Chinese face a lower than average risk. This highlights the thought that your ethnic origin can affect your health. To conclude, I believe that both poverty and lifestyle contribute to poor health, although I believe that poverty is more of an issue than any other factor.
